Porcelain is a fantastic alternative for patios as it gives your outdoor space a fresh, modern look whilst maintaining robustness for many years. On this particular project, our customer had a large area for us to work with and we wanted to utilise every bit of space. We suggested completely reimaging the current outdoor space by adding steps and levels using Marshall’s Arrento Cream porcelain flags and Brindle Driveline kerbs to give the new steps that added elegance. Paired with our fitted and supplied artificial lawn, we used solid timber sleepers for steps onto the grass and finished with a concrete flagged dog run fenced off with gothic point fencing.
Block paving can truly transform the look of your home. Available in a wealth of colours, finishes and designs to match any garden style, you can choose from traditional or modern styles to suit your taste and the vision you have for your outdoor space. Block paving is extremely durable and weatherproof, making it a fantastic choice for any patio. After sharing ideas with our team, we installed a Barleystone block with a Driveline charcoal block to border the lawn for this project to give it a unique elegance. By using superior block paving products and providing efficient and excellent workmanship we will achieve your vision.
Indian Stone is a great way of livening up your patio and offers a premium quality product at an affordable price. Not only is it easy on the eye, it is extremely versatile and resilient – making it perfect for driveways, patios and walkways. For this development, we used Autumn Bronze natural Indian stone paired with Indian cobbles to really counterpart the new patio and Aspire’s implemented golf zone. Additional to the new Indian stone patio and golf zone, we traded the existing old step by using the dig out and replacing it using same materials to build and reform a new one.
We recommend that the surface of the paving should be about 6’’/150mm below the damp course of the property also at least another 5’’/130mm for the sub-base. 3’’/80mm for the hardcore 2’’/50mm for the concrete mix
In a nutshell NO! But this can depend on the quality of the porcelain. Most good quality porcelain flags will have a very good slip rating.
Simple really use the right pointing compound. There a couple of all-weather jointing compounds on the market these days that’s withstand harsh weathers and do not crack over time. They are like a resin-based formula.
Your patio must have a gradual slope away from the house to ensure all water drains off. Allow a drop of about 25mm in every 1.5m or alternatively install a drainage channel.
A good jet wash and some patio cleaner will do the trick. If you do not have the access to a jet wash then a stiff brush with will serve a purpose but you will not see the same results as you would off a jet wash.
There are a few tips to keep your garden furniture rusting. Use upholstery to reduce the exposure of moisture and heat. When not in use store carefully. Use a paste wax on furniture it resists water very good.
Average price for a patio installation in the UK is around £4k. Of course choice of paving and design can change this drastically.
